Beauty and the Beast

Last night we went to "Beauty and the Beast" with Kim (Wellendorf) & Justin Van Driel. It was a gymnastics match and a wrestling dual going on at the same time. The mat was on one side of the Hilton Coliseum, the vault was on the edge of the floor, and the uneven bars, floor exercise, as well as the balance beam were on the other side of the floor. It was our first gymnastics match so we didn't know what to expect, but we enjoyed it. ISU beat Missouri in the gymnastics match. If you like watching gymnasts fall on their faces when you watch the Olympics, go to a college meet! ISU was good, but Missouri had some issues. This one chick from Missouri fell on her butt every time she practiced before doing the vault, and guess what? She fell on her butt when competing too....twice! She also did some big flip move on the uneven bars, missed the bar, and ate the mat in her warm up. The whole crowd made a big gasp. When she did her routine, same thing happened too! I think she must be on the basketball team, and got on the wrong bus! The wrestling meet was a landslide. Iowa State beat Minnesota 29-6 I believe, with the only six points were a forfeit at 133. Minnesota has went down hill in the past few years and they definitely showed it Friday night. All in all we had a fun time, and want to go to the event next year for sure.
